Hootini
Hootini is a nine-piece collective with a weird and wonky take on London’s diverse musical cultures; weaving together elements of jazz, Afro-Latin, hip-hop, Balkan, funk, dubstep, and drum & bass creating original and genre-defying sounds. Their festival appearances include Love Supreme, Secret Garden Party, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, and Lambeth Country Show. Their live shows include The Fox and Firkin, and Magic Garden, they’ve shared stages with other artists including Steamdown and Space Ghetto, and have established a collaborative night Incahoots with Brighton based band Town of Cats performing in sold out venues in London (The Jago) and Brighton (The Daltons), as well as being regulars at percussionist Williams Cumberbache’s Canalside Sessions at Grow, Hackney.
About the EP
This debut EP is a perfect snapshot of what the collective is all about. A true Frankenstein’s montage of styles, showcasing four of the band’s compositions establishing

the group's unique voice and direction. The EP fuses the disciplined dynamics of a classical brass band with the spontaneous energy of a modern jazz collective and the raucous ruckus of street bands. The music takes you on an unexpected journey of groove and melody, from cinematic brass dubstep to a brooding jazz anthem, from wonky whole-tone funk to contemplative neo-soul.
